In the following classic post, still available in Google, Ken claims to have been affiliated with the Electronic Frontiers Foundation in 1980.  However, the EFF did not even exist until ten years later.

savior so well. Only YOU are interested in "freedom of speech!" The
sanctimony is on a par with Jimmy Swaggarts ranting on stage before he got
caught with the hooker. Do you REALLY think that YOU are the ONLY one on the
net that cares about freedom of speech? I suppose you have heard of the
"Electronic Frontier Foundation" Steve? I was a supporter of that 20 years
ago. Do you know what EFF is about? Or are you just riunning away with your
self importance as ***THE** sole savior of freedom of speech on the
internet? Deja is NOT nearly as flippant as you pretend. Of course they are
a business, and of course they don't want to be sued. Do you think YOU are
immune?  Do you think you cna tell a judge or jury, "I AM SPECIAL, I AM the
ONLY one PROTECTING FREEDOM OF SPEECH" so *I* don't have to obey ANY of your
silly rules!

    Nope Steve you are right. I will Not accept your LAME defense of people
who HARASS people and DEEPLY DESIRE to cause others HARM using YOUR service,
such as trying desperately to incite the rape and brutalization of the wives
and children of people they have "MARKED" on the net. Posting names,
addresses, descriptions and making forged posts appearing to be from the
women in SEX PERVERTED newsgroups to cause that to happen and YOU refusal to
do anything about that.

    While I know you think you know a VAST amount about the law
Steve, I suggest you speak to a REAL lawyer and have somebody explain some
things about criminal law for you. To wit, how you can make yourself an
"ACCESSORY to a crime. TRY to think about the personal repercussions should
somebody actually follow Moore's entreaties and go rape one of the women he
has "MARKED" via YOUR service.  And perhaps like one guy did in New
Hampshire, actually commit a rather gory rape and murder.  I listen to all
your EXCUSES and rationalizations and how you try to USE "freedom of speech"
as a shield. I know, from having read your responses that you are a man
without a capacity to feel responsible. Frankly, Steve, I find you to be as
sociopathic as some of your users.  You seem incapable of making a
distinction between blowing the whistle on some illegal acts, and trying to
foster the rape of a child.  THAT, sir, is my ONLY problem with you.  I do
NOT buy for a picosecond that in order to get free information into Iran,
Cuba, China etc we MUST also put up with antics such as Moore's! And the
more you attempt to make that argument the more you diminish your own
credibility. It is insulting. I can't help but wonder if you have the
capacity to care about anyone enough so you would understand why people are
bothered by what has been going on. I find it interesting that you two have
been working so hard to DEFEND Mr.. Moore's behavior and SELL that it is all
part of "FREEDOM OF SPEECH." It is NOT! It NEVER has been.

Not under our legal system. Yahoo is facing a lawsuit that is likely to
break the company because THEY wouldn't listen either. Maybe it is
impossible to reason with you Steve. But someday somebody will sue you into
reason.  (Not a threat.) It is as inevitable as the lawsuits against Yahoo
and AOL were. Get too arrogant and sanctimonious and somebody is gonna bring
you down.
